Ariana Grande on Her Voice Change After TikTok Video

Ariana Grande has addressed the recent attention on her speaking voice, which became a big deal after a clip from her talk on the “Podcrushed” podcast with Penn Badgley went viral on TikTok.

In the clip, Grande began talking in a deeper voice and then suddenly changed to a higher pitch, which got people asking questions and discussing it a lot.

Responding to the viral video captioned “The Voice Change??” on TikTok, Grande explained in a comment that she intentionally changes her voice based on habit and for the sake of her vocal health.

She mentioned, “I’ve been speaking like this for two years and it helps my voice stay healthy 🙂 🍵.”

She explained that her voice change is because she’s getting ready for her role as Glinda in the movie Wicked. She’s been practicing a lot for this part, doing voice exercises and acting practice every day for months.

This isn’t the first time she has faced criticism over her speaking voice. Similar comments came up when she appeared at the 2024 Oscars alongside her co-star Cynthia Erivo.

She even hinted during the “Podcrushed” podcast that there might be a deluxe edition of her latest album, “Eternal Sunshine,” in the works.

Her fans can also look forward to a remix of the hit song The Boy Is Mine, where she collaborates with the original artists Brandy and Monica.

Expressing her excitement on Instagram, Grande said, “This collaboration means so much to me.”

Since her music debut in 2013, Ariana Grande has become a major figure in the music industry, winning two Grammy Awards and consistently topping the charts in the UK.

Response from Music Critic, John Smith:

“Ariana Grande’s ability to adapt her voice strategically for both health and role preparation is commendable. It shows her dedication not only to her craft but also to maintaining longevity in the competitive music industry.”
