Blake Lively’s Versace Catsuit and Gigi Hadid’s Miu Miu Ensemble in the ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Premiere
Blake Lively and Gigi Hadid made a big fashion statement at the New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine on July 22, 2024. The event, held at Lincoln Center, saw the two friends dress up in outfits inspired by the film’s superheroes, Deadpool and Wolverine.
Blake Lively, who is married to Ryan Reynolds (the actor who plays Deadpool), wore a custom Versace catsuit in bright red.
The outfit had floral patterns and covered her legs and arms, looking similar to Deadpool’s famous suit. Lively’s suit was off-the-shoulder.
She accessorized with a snake-shaped bracelet, big earrings, and a purse that looked like a medieval weapon, making her outfit even more dramatic.
Gigi Hadid chose a look inspired by Wolverine. She wore a mustard yellow leather top and a matching skirt by Miu Miu. Hadid’s outfit included a yellow quilted Miu Miu handbag and black strappy heels.
She wore lots of gold jewelry, including large earrings, a wrapped necklace, several bangles, and a diamond-covered anklet, adding a glamorous touch to her ensemble.
At the afterparty, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Lively changed into a new outfit. She wore a bright red latex minidress covered in rosettes, with a blue bodice.
She paired this look with red high heels, a red lipstick, and matching red nails, keeping the Deadpool theme going.
Hadid also changed her outfit for the afterparty. She wore a bright yellow PVC trench coat that she used as a dress over a black bodysuit.
She completed her look with yellow pumps and the same yellow Miu Miu handbag. Hadid also kept her large gold jewelry, including big earrings, a necklace, and an anklet. This outfit, designed by LaQuan Smith, showed off her ability to mix high fashion with comic book style.
Besides their superhero-inspired outfits, both Hadid and Lively showcased a new fashion trend: adding accessories to their accessories.
Hadid’s Miu Miu bag was decorated with small trinkets, keyrings, and charms, showing how adding little items can make an outfit more fun and personal. This trend was also seen in Stuart Vevers’ Coach Fall 2024 collection, where bags were adorned with souvenir-like items, making them unique and eye-catching.
