Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner

Kevin Costner, a famous Hollywood actor, recently talked about his strong friendship with Whitney Houston, who was also a famous singer and actress.

They became really good friends while working together on the movie “The Bodyguard.” This friendship was so special because it went beyond just being co-stars in a movie. It’s something that people still remember and feel connected to, even after all these years.

Costner, known for playing strong protectors in movies, talked about how he saw himself as Houston’s real-life protector, even when they weren’t filming “The Bodyguard.”

He said he felt like an “imaginary bodyguard” for her, showing how close they were as friends, not just co-workers.

In a heartfelt interview, he shared some special moments that really showed how close he was to Whitney Houston.

He talked about how he stood by her side during filming, helping her out and making sure she felt comfortable, even when others weren’t so sure about her. And when it came to saying goodbye at her funeral, he gave a touching speech that lasted a long time, showing just how much he cared about her. Throughout it all, Costner’s dedication to Houston never wavered, proving just how strong their bond truly was.

“In some ways, I took the role of playing Whitney’s bodyguard into real life,” Costner reflected, recalling their time together on and off-screen. “I wasn’t trying to usurp my director, but I had made a promise to her, not to [upset] him,” he added, referencing his protective stance towards Houston during the filming of “The Bodyguard.”

Even though TV networks wanted him to speak for less time during Whitney Houston’s funeral, Costner refused. He wanted to honor her properly.

When someone mentioned that CNN wanted shorter speeches to air commercials, Costner didn’t budge.

He said, “They can play commercials while I talk, I don’t mind.” This showed how much he cared about remembering Houston in the best way possible, speaking for a heartfelt 17 minutes straight.

“The movie ‘The Bodyguard’ was a huge hit that made Whitney Houston a superstar. It showed how well Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston worked together. The songs from the movie, like ‘I Will Always Love You,’ are still loved by people today.”
