Mike Tyson’s Ulcer Flare-Up: What Really Happened on That Flight?

Boxing legend Mike Tyson experienced a medical emergency during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on May 26. The 57-year-old former heavyweight champion became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up, requiring paramedics to attend to him on board .

Thankfully, his representatives have assured us that he is now “doing great” and expressed his gratitude to the medical staff who assisted him.

The incident happened about 30 minutes before landing on American Airlines flight 1815, prompting the airline to call first responders to meet the plane upon arrival at Los Angeles International Airport.

You might have heard rumors that the flight was delayed because of Tyson’s health issue. However, his representatives clarified that the two-hour delay was actually due to air conditioning problems on the aircraft, which had been exacerbated by high temperatures in Miami.

Tyson, who was waiting in the airline’s Admirals Club during the delay, remained accommodating to fans who recognized him.

This health scare comes while Tyson is preparing for a highly anticipated boxing match against YouTube star-turned-boxer Jake Paul on July 20, 2024. The bout, which will be streamed live on Netflix, marks his return to the ring for a professional fight for the first time in nearly two decades.

The fight, scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will feature eight two-minute rounds with each fighter using 14-ounce gloves.

We can’t ignore the significant age difference, he will have celebrated his 58th birthday by the time of the match and will be 31 years older than Paul.

Despite the age difference, the fight has created a lot of excitement. Tyson, who has a record of 50 wins and 6 losses with 44 knockouts, is confident. Paul, with a record of 9 wins and 1 loss and six knockouts, has promised to “knock this old man out.”

To prepare for the fight, he has been training intensively and has even abstained from smoking and sexual activity.
