Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey Tie the Knot in Stunning Rhode Island Ceremony
Olivia Culpo, the former Miss Universe, and Christian McCaffrey, star running back for the San Francisco 49ers, have officially tied the knot. The couple exchanged vows on June 29, 2024, in a picturesque ceremony at the Watch Hill Chapel in Westerly, Rhode Island.
The wedding, attended by close family and friends, marked the culmination of a love story that began five years ago.
Culpo and McCaffrey, who got engaged in April 2023, chose the bride’s home state as the setting for their nuptials, reflecting their deep personal connection to the location.
Culpo walked down the aisle in a custom-made Dolce & Gabbana gown, which featured a crew neckline, long sleeves, and a full skirt with delicate buttons down the back.
Her veil, trimmed with lace, added a bit of flair to her elegant outfit. Culpo explained to Vogue that she aimed for a look that felt natural and balanced, where the dress and veil enhanced her appearance without overshadowing it.
McCaffrey, clad in a stylish tan suit, beamed as he watched his bride make her way towards him. The couple, who always envisioned a traditional church wedding, found their perfect venue in the historic Watch Hill Chapel.
Following the ceremony, the festivities continued at the iconic Ocean House in Westerly, where guests enjoyed a night of celebration.
Security was tight, ensuring the couple and their guests could revel in the moment without distractions. Despite the heavy security, the atmosphere remained vibrant and joyous, with many attendees expressing their excitement and happiness for the newlyweds.
Among the guests were Culpo’s sisters, Sophia and Aurora, and her brothers, Gus and Pete, along with McCaffrey’s brothers, Max, Luke, and Dylan. The couple’s parents, Peter Culpo, Susan Curran, Ed McCaffrey, and Lisa McCaffrey, also attended, sharing in the joy of their children’s special day.
Culpo and McCaffrey’s relationship began in May 2019, quickly blossoming into a supportive and loving partnership.
They made their first public appearance as a couple in February 2020 and have since shared numerous milestones, including adopting a dog and relocating from Charlotte, North Carolina, to San Francisco after McCaffrey’s trade to the 49ers.
The couple’s engagement in April 2023 was a highlight of their journey, with both sharing their excitement and love on social media. In the days leading up to the wedding,
Culpo posted photos of their preparations, including a private plane decorated with “Mr. & Mrs.” marquee letters and a special menu for their “wedding flight.”
