Today, Sean Diddy Combs has issued a public apology following the release of surveillance footage purportedly showing him attacking his ex-girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. The CCTV footage, which aired on CNN earlier this week, depicts a disturbing incident in a hotel hallway, where Combs is seen kicking and pushing Ventura.

In a heartfelt video posted to his Instagram page, Combs expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating, “I was disgusted when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

He emphasized that he takes full responsibility for his behavior and has since sought professional help, including therapy and rehab. “I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he added, pledging to commit to becoming a better person each day.

The footage, reportedly recorded on March 5, 2016, at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, shows a man assaulting Ventura by throwing her to the floor, kicking her, and later attempting to drag her by her shirt.

A statement from Ventura’s lawyer described the video as “gut-wrenching” and indicative of “disturbing and predatory behavior” by Combs.

This incident is not an isolated one in the legal battles between the former couple. Last November, Ventura settled a lawsuit against Combs for an undisclosed sum, where she had accused him of rape and sexual trafficking over a span of ten years. Combs’ lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, stated that the settlement was “in no way an admission of wrongdoing.”

Further complicating matters, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office announced that the alleged assault seen in the video might be too old to prosecute, given the statute of limitations. Despite this, the impact of the footage has reignited discussions about Combs’ past behavior and legal troubles.

The relationship between Combs and Ventura began when she was 19 and he was 37, adding another layer of complexity to their interactions over the years. Following the release of the footage, other women have come forward with lawsuits accusing the rapper of sexual and physical abuse.

Additionally, Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami were recently raided as part of a federal investigation into human trafficking.
