Lionsgate Releases Trailer for ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’
Lionsgate has released the first trailer for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, a comedy film directed by Dallas Jenkins. The movie stars Judy Greer and Pete Holmes and will be in theaters on November 8, 2024. It promises to be a funny and touching holiday story.
The film is based on Barbara Robinson’s 1971 book. It tells the story of the Herdman kids, who are known for causing trouble. They take over the town’s Christmas pageant, creating chaos but also showing the true meaning of Christmas.
Judy Greer plays Grace Bradley, who volunteers to direct the pageant. Pete Holmes plays her husband, Bob Bradley.
The trailer shows a mix of funny and heartfelt scenes. The Herdmans’ bad behavior and the lessons they teach the community are highlighted.
A key line from Grace Bradley, “Jesus was born for the Herdmans as much as he was for us. We’d be missing the whole point of the story if we turn them away,” sums up the film’s message.
Dallas Jenkins, who also created the series The Chosen, directs the movie. He co-wrote the script with Platte Clark, Darin McDaniel, and Ryan Swanson. The script stays true to Robinson’s book while adding Jenkins’ unique style.
The production team includes Kevin Downes, Jon Erwin, Andrew Erwin, Darin McDaniel, Chet Thomas, and Daryl Lefever. Jenkins, Gerald R. Molen, Mark Kendell, and Tony Young are the executive producers.
The film also stars Elizabeth Tabish and Lauren Graham. The movie’s mix of humor and heartfelt moments is expected to be a hit with audiences during the holiday season.
Dallas Jenkins has shared his vision for the film. He believes it’s important to create movies with a message. “The best filmmakers are personal and have a voice. I thought: ‘Well, what’s wrong with me having my voice?’” Jenkins said in a recent interview.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever will compete with other big movies, like Focus Features’ Conclave, which also opens the same weekend. Lionsgate has several other movies coming out this holiday season, including Boy Kills World, The Strangers: Chapter 1, and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis.
As excitement builds, fans can look forward to a movie that is both funny and heartwarming. It reminds viewers of the true meaning of Christmas. Mark your calendars for November 8, 2024, and get ready for a unique Christmas pageant.
