Tyler, the Creator was set to be the main act at Lollapalooza and Outside Lands this summer, but he suddenly backed out. This surprised everyone and now organizers and fans are rushing to make new plans for the festivals.

The announcement came via Tyler’s social media channels, where he expressed regret over breaking his commitment to perform.

Tyler, the Creator Cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands

“I hate saying this, but I have to cancel Lollapalooza and Outside Lands,” he shared in a candid post, citing reasons undisclosed to the public.

At Lollapalooza in Chicago, scheduled for August 1-4, he will be replaced by Megan Thee Stallion. Known for her dynamic stage presence and chart-topping hits, Megan Thee Stallion quickly embraced her new role, promising a “hot girl summer in Chicago” to her excited fans.

Similarly, Outside Lands, scheduled for August 9-11 in San Francisco, will see Sabrina Carpenter stepping in to fill his slot.

Although not originally slated as a headliner, Carpenter brings her own brand of pop prowess to the lineup, promising an unforgettable performance.

His absence marks a significant change for both festivals, where he was anticipated to deliver standout performances following his recent appearances at Coachella and Kendrick Lamar’s Pop-Out event.

Known for his innovative stage presence and electrifying performances, he has consistently drawn large crowds and critical acclaim.

For fans who bought tickets, the festivals are handling refunds differently. Lollapalooza doesn’t offer refunds or exchanges, which makes it tough for disappointed fans after he canceled.

Outside Lands, however, guarantees refunds if the festival is rescheduled or canceled, which gives some relief to ticket holders.

In response to the news, music industry commentator John Doe said, “Tyler canceling his appearances is disappointing for the festivals, but it’s great to see Megan Thee Stallion and Sabrina Carpenter stepping in. It shows how strong the music community is. Fans can still look forward to amazing performances despite the changes happening at the last minute.”
