WWE has announced that starting January 2025, its flagship program Monday Night Raw will exclusively stream on Netflix. This move marks a significant departure from traditional cable television, as WWE embraces the burgeoning realm of streaming platforms with a reported $5 billion deal.

Triple H, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, discussed the implications of this transition during an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, highlighting the newfound creative freedom and global accessibility that Netflix offers.

“We won’t have those issues with Netflix,” he commented, referring to past challenges such as censoring live broadcasts due to unexpected audience reactions or unscripted moments.

The decision to move Raw to Netflix comes as part of WWE’s broader strategy to diversify its broadcasting partnerships.

SmackDown will move to USA Network in October 2024, while NXT will debut on the CW Network on October 1st, expanding WWE’s reach across different platforms.

In addition to these changes in where their shows air, WWE announced they’ll host big events like the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis starting with the 2025 Royal Rumble on February 1st. They hope this will make these events even more exciting and enjoyable for fans.

Industry analysts and fans alike are eagerly anticipating WWE’s debut on Netflix, viewing it as a pivotal moment in sports entertainment’s evolution toward digital platforms.

With streaming services becoming increasingly dominant in entertainment, WWE’s move underscores a broader trend in how sports content is consumed globally.

As WWE prepares to redefine its broadcasting landscape with Netflix, expectations are high for how this partnership will shape the future of wrestling entertainment.
